Я вот все поняла, но переводить недетально лень. И в принципе, это же вам нужно - даже я из-за некоторых фраз полезла в словарь просто из интереса. Автор, постарайтесь сами - это интересно и нужно! Выложите свой вариант перевода - если я смогу, то поправлю.

Germany New Year Traditions are a little different from that of the New Year traditions in the other European countries. German people just pour molten lead drop by into cold water. There is a custom in Germany of leaving a bit of every food on New Year’s Eve in every bodies bowl or plate. It is believed that leaving left over till midnight keeps the food stock at your house always full. It is believed that Carp brings wealth to home. That is why People in Germany traditionally following the custom of leaving a bit of food on their place.
The Holy Sylvester night is regarded as the last night of the year. This night has been regarded as the fool’s night on which people have good time. According to legends, Pope Sylvester I, is the New Year day’s Pope. It is said that this man recovered from leprosy and also he was the person who baptized Constantine the great, the Roman Emperor. Sylvester was the son of Rufinus and a Roman saint. Marcellinus made him a saint and a priest. During the time of Sylvester most of the famous churches of modern days were built. The Basilica of St. John Lateran and the Basilica of St. Peter were also built during this time very close to the former palace of the same name. The first list of the names of the Roman martyrs or the martyrology was prepared during Sylvester’s time. During 335 AD the saint died. He was buried at the church built by himself over the Catacomb of Priscilla near Via Salaria. On 31st December a feast was arranged by St. Sylvester.
In most of the German speaking countries people celebrate the turning of a year to another is celebrated through loud merry making and huge mirth. They invite guests to their home on the first day of the New Year and along with the guests the hosts attend a “Sylvester Ball”. The New Year is celebrated by eating, night long revelry making and drinking. Then the very popular “Sylvester” tradition of Bleigissen is followed. After leads are molten over flame and dropped on cold water for finding out the shape your future is going to take in the next year, during the mid night, when the previous year passes by and the New Year arrives, people fill their wine glasses and people wish “ein gutes neues Jahr“ to each other. Some people even go out of the houses for merry making. You can also enjoy the bells ringing all around in Germany. People celebrate the day but shooting and burning fire works. German television telecast the entire classic of Sylvester during the Christmas Eve. The original black and white version of this play was telecasted in 1963.
